This sculpture was inspired by the movement of the flowers petals as they grow and open in my studio garden. I quarried this translucent piece of California Alabaster from the U.S. Gypsum Quarry in Anza Borrego.

This piece can be rotated 360 degrees on its base. It is connected to the base with a stainless steel pin inside a brass sleeve.
